Mike: Hello to all and thanks for visiting The Layoff List. Today proved to be about the quietest day in weeks, if not months, for layoff announcements, especially larger ones. Tomorrow’s Jobless Claims will give us a good indication of jobless trends. The consensus is for jobless claims to fall slightly to 664,000. From this viewpoint, it seems like the larger layoff announcements are slowing, but there are plenty of the smaller layoffs (<500) still being announced with regularity. We’ll know more tomorrow at 8:30 EDT.

If you know of any layoff announcemetns that this blogger has missed, and there are plenty, please pass them along and I’ll post them. Also, if you have news of any impending layoffs or companies that are hiring, be sure to send them along so others can be aware of those plans. You can post your information in the comments area, or send me a note at mike@layofflist.org. Thanks………..
Onto the news of the day:
