Mike: Now the government is the new backer of car warranties. Amazing stuff these days. I wonder why the auto workers are told to sacrifice more, but bankers that have sucked trillions of taxpayer dollars are given lucrative bonuses. The government demands that GM CEO Wagoner resign, which is good news, but they don’t demand the same reshuffling of the crooked and corrupt bankers who have nearly destroyed US and world financial stability. My take on this is that the bankers have the government by the financial throat and are more in charge of the economy than the government is at this point, while the government can still demand concessions from the downtrodden auto workforce who aren’t able to threaten financial Armageddon. If the government was truly in charge of the current financial situation, they would demand the same financial sacrifices from the unscrupulous, dishonest and unethical banking cabal.

But the report says incomes fell by 0.2 percent in February, the fourth drop in the past five months, declines that reflected the sizable number of job layoffs that have been occurring because of the recession.
